Happy Mother’s Day: Winners of the Maternal Health Challenge

When ABC News launched their "Be the Change: Save a Life" series, they also partnered with the Acumen Fund and GOOD to launch a "Moms Matter" competition to raise attention to the hundreds of thousands of women who die in pregnancy and childbirth. They asked for submissions in the form of Tweets and print ads, guerrilla marketing campaigns and videos, essays, and a host of other creative ideas with one unifying purpose: to stand up as a global community and to say with one voice, "Enough is enough: moms matter."

Click here to see the winners of every category, but we're especially drawn to this timely, Mother's Day video made by the Jubilee Project. For every view the video gets in May, the Jubilee Project will donate to Every Mother Counts.

But creating the ads is only step one. Now it's time to ensure those messages are read and felt by the people that matter: policymakers, philanthropists, and everyday individuals who are ready to put an end to unnecessary maternal deaths around the world. These ideas are meant to spread, so the next steps depend on you. Send a tweet, post an ad to your Facebook wall, throw your time or support behind an organization whose work you admire, or celebrate Mothers' Day with a guerrilla marketing event of your own!
