Fast Company Magazine Names Voxiva One of “The World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies”

Fast Company's annual Most Innovative Companies issue today named Voxiva the 40^th most innovative company in the world for “encouraging good health via mobile apps,” bolstering Voxiva’s leadership position in the mobile health field. Voxiva was also 3rd on their list of the Top 10 innovators in the Mobile Industry. Women Deliver congratulates Voxiva on this great news, and agrees with Fast Company editor Robert Safian when he says that, "Innovation has never been more important to our economy and our future."

Voxiva is leading the way in turning the world’s 5 billion mobile phones into powerful personal tools for improving people’s health. We have highlighted their cutting-edge pregnancy mobile health information service Text4Baby a few times before, and are excited to watch as the service expands across the US and begins to reach across the globe. Text4Baby is the largest mobile health service in the US with over 140,000 subscribers, and was launched by Voxiva in 2010 in partnership with the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition, Johnson & Johnson, Grey Healthcare Group, CTIA and leading wireless carriers and the US Government.

In November 2010, the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition announced a major expansion of the Text4Baby platform and community reach, made possible by a multi-million dollar multi-year commitment from Johnson & Johnson, with the goal of reaching many more new and underserved mothers, to provide greater access to health information. The program is now poised to engage thousands of additional partners in communities at risk and aims to serve one million mothers by 2012, promoting maternal and child health worldwide.

Text4baby delivers free health tips 3 times a week to pregnant women and new moms who text BABY (or BEBE for Spanish) to 511411. These messages are timed to the due date or baby's birth date with information women need to take care of their health and give their babies the best possible start in life. The text4baby service is now being implemented in countries around the world.
